Priorities for my next term
Experience & Dedication

Dedicated to our faith based education system
Increasing knowledge of the faith among our students and ensuring more of them take part in the holy sacraments.

Student and Teacher Safety
Our students and teachers deserve a safe environment in the classroom.

Committed to the Highest Standards of Academic Excellence
Ensuring students are future ready with education that prepares them for successful lives. As a woman in a technical field, I have seen the current, rapid changes to my industry first hand.

Expansion of the Elementary Music program
Elementary Music does not have specialized funding which is why it is typically one of the first programs to suffer whenever there is funding cuts. In my next term, I will work to address this by advocating for new, dedicated funding for music programs starting in Grade 6.

A Commitment to Transparency
Catholic parents, guardians, and ratepayers have a right to influence Board decisions and to understand their impact students and teachers in the classroom.

Accomplishments in my First term
- Vice Chair 2023-2025 - Elected by my peers
- Advocated for and received increased funding for new disability supports. A letter that I co-wrote was sent to the minister and the minister responded by providing more permanent funding allowing the school board to hire a full time speech therapist
- Championed rental laptop program for high school students. A concerned parent mentioned it felt like there was a laptop vs non-laptop class which I brought to the attention of the Director of Education, emphasizing that our schools should never make our students feel out of place because of socio-economic factors
- Advocated for increasing the French Immersion program. I co-wrote a motion to the provincial advocacy group, Ontario Catholic School Trustees' Association (OCSTA), to request the province to provide aid in the recruitment and retention of French teachers
- Helped the Holy Rosary community navigate the administration proposed plans to move their established French Immersion to St Nicholas Catholic Elementary School, a ten minute drive north. This would have potentially added 141 students and 8 portables to a school with 508 students
- Advocated for increasing Math supports. I co-wrote a motion to the provincial advocacy group (OCSTA) to request the province to provide the same kind of funding as is provided for literacy coaches which would enable a math coach to help every school instead of just the few

about Me
I was born and raised in Toronto to an immigrant Catholic household. From an early age, I saw my parents struggle to navigate a foreign, inaccessible school system in a time when policies were written on paper and people had to struggle to get information. These experiences have shaped my entire philosophy about Catholic education. When I speak with people, I always listen when people tell me about the unexpected challenges they face, whether they are parents, students, or teachers.
In 2016, my family moved to Waterloo to provide a better quality of life for our growing family. During the summer, we joined the St Agnes Parish community where we have been proud parishioners ever since.
I have one child in Waterloo Catholic, this education journey has been fundamental to my outlook as a Catholic parent and Trustee. Through the school community, I have encountered parents from all walks of life, from families who have been in Waterloo for generations, to newcomer families striving to make a better life for their children. Their hopes inspire me to repay their trust in our system with a vision for education that will live up to their dreams.
It has been a wonderful decade here and I am proud to represent my community of Waterloo, Wellesley, and Woolwich.
WHY I am running
Far too often I have spoken to parents and teachers who feel that their concerns are not heard. When I was campaigning for my first term, I remember a constituent sharing with me the hurt they felt about a boundary review. I made it my mission to listen honestly and consider what a community needs, not just what the people who know how to navigate the system want.
I am running to bring back an emphasis on a holistic education, one that nurtures Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics. In many cases, our school board is the only place where children can experience the arts and potentially discover a hidden talent.
Finally, I am running because of my daughter. I want her to have the best Catholic Education experience that I know WCDSB can provide. I believe WCDSB has the potential to become a shining beacon.
